R Turner and Associates is currently recruiting a Commercial Lawyer for a Sydney-based law firm. This well-established firm has built a solid reputation in the industrial relations sector and provides a wide variety of legal services to commercial clients.
In this role you will become part of a large team and will manage your own portfolio of SME and corporate clients.
Gather evidence and testimony from a range of witnesses for use in industrial relations hearings
Maintain records and evidence registers for short- and long-term cases
Establish and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with clients, human resources managers and their staff at all levels
Negotiate effectively on behalf of clients and oversee mediation proceedings
Develop the R Turner and Associates brand as a leader in industrial relations law by representing the firm at industry events and contributing to brand development strategies
You will need:
A law degree and at least 2 years’ experience in the legal profession
Sound knowledge of Australian industrial relations law with experience in the sector
Experience in mediation and negotiation with a confident and measured approach to conflict resolution
Excellent written and verbal communications skills including strong presentation skills
Effective use of computer systems for the generation of professional reports, scheduling and client database management
Strong relationship-building skills
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Good organisational skills and capacity to be detail-oriented
High level of integrity and professional accountability
