About this course

The online Accounting Pathway Program provides the unprecedented opportunity to combine three accounting qualifications within a single program. In this comprehensive program, only available through Open Colleges, students are guided through completion of each of the following nationally recognised qualifications:

  • FNS40615 Certificate IV in Accounting
  • FNS50215 Diploma of Accounting
  • FNS60215 Advanced Diploma of Accounting

The program acts as a direct entry qualification, enabling students to gain these industry-standard qualifications without specific accounting experience.

Through its comprehensive course load, students will learn the fundamentals of accounting practice, and be able to gain key competencies like preparing financial statements, operating computerised accounting systems and performing financial calculations. As students advance through the program's content, they will receive the progressively in-depth education and training required to work in more senior accounting roles.

The program also has a strong commitment to producing industry-ready graduates. By completing this program, students will be meeting the Tax Practitioners Board's (TPB) educational requirements to register as BAS (Business Activity Statement) agents and will partially satisfy the requirements to become registered tax agents.

Graduates will also receive complimentary membership to the Tax Institute, and will be admitted to the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).
