With a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Murdoch University, you'll set yourself up to help guide strategic business decisions, lead best practice in your workplace and ensure that businesses prepare for the future.

You'll study maths, economics, business law, management, governance, finance and accounting processes, giving you a solid foundation from which to analyse the cash flow and financial position of a business - enabling you to help make important strategic decisions and guide the future of your business.

You'll delve deep into business operations, learning how businesses really work, with a focus on efficiency and good decision making - getting you ready for rewarding, challenging work across a variety of industries. You'll be needing more than a calculator with this business degree!

Eligibility

To be eligible for entry into this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Completed Australian senior secondary studies with an ATAR equal to or above this year's admission cut-off; OR
  • Achieved a multiple choice score of 135 or above in the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT); OR
  • Completed a recognised post-secondary course; OR
  • Completed approved university preparation (foundation) studies; OR
  • Completed at least one year of study at a recognised tertiary or higher education institution; OR
  • Completed 2 units at an Australian university or through Open Universities Australia

If you don't meet any of these academic entry requirements, Murdoch University offers several pathways, including the FlexiTrack university preparation program, to help you qualify for this course.

All students must satisfy Murdoch University's minimum English requirements by demonstrating competency in the English Language.

In order to qualify for admission to membership of the professional accounting bodies (CPA Australia, ICAA and the IPA), students must complete the following two units, which can be taken in lieu of two general elective units:

  • Taxation
  • Auditing

You may be eligible for advanced standing if your previous education or work experience meet certain criteria.

Finance options

Eligible students can apply for a HECS-HELP loan to cover the upfront costs of all or part of your fees.

Alternatively, you can pay annually for the units you choose to study in that year.

Murdoch University also offers a number of scholarships to successful applicants.

You may be eligible to receive HECS-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the HECS-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
