About this course

The business world is dynamic and ruthless, but the Diploma of Accounting (FNS50215) aims to help you gain a competitive edge. Delivered and assessed by Upskilled on behalf of SMR Learning Services (trading as TrainSmart Australia) the course covers key learning areas such as financial and business performance information, tax documentation, budgets and forecasts, and internal control procedures.

You will have the option to choose electives in accounting information systems, financial reports, complex spreadsheets and tax documentation for legal entities. The latest accounting software applications such as Xero are also covered. Completion of the course certifies you as a qualified Registered Tax Agent or BAS agent, and prepares you for the option of further study in a relevant bachelor's degree.

If you'd like to apply for a VET FEE-HELP loan, however, you will be required to:

  • FNSACC504 - Prepare financial reports for corporate entities (pre-requisite units BSBFIA401 and FNSACC301)

  • FNSACC301 Process financial transactions and extract interim reports
  • BSBLDR502 Lead and manage effective workplace relationships
  • FNSBKG404 Carry out business activity and instalment activity statement tasks
  • BSBFIA401 Prepare financial reports
  • FNSBKG405 Establish and maintain a payroll system

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a nationally recognised, accredited Diploma of Accounting (FNS50215) from TrainSmart Australia or Upskilled.

By completing this course you will be qualified as a Registered Tax Agent or BAS agent, and be able to apply for roles in any business or accounting practice or even set up your own taxation practice. This course is also a pathway to further related studies such as the Advanced Diploma of Accounting or a relevant Bachelor's Degree.
