About this course

Further your career in the agriculture industry and become qualified for a supervisory position with this nationally recognised Certificate IV in Agriculture (AHC40110). Delivered online, this course is designed to be flexible and suit your schedule. You will learn specialist skills, including OH&S process, planning and management strategies for livestock and pasture, pest control, chemical use, machinery operation and maintenance and key aspects of agribusiness.

The online components of this course are delivered online through Upskilled and Western Sydney Institute of TAFE, and you will be required to coordinate regular (minimum monthly) access to a farm enterprise that has livestock and suitable pastureland in order to complete required work tasks for the course.

Eligibility

There are no specific prerequisites for this course; however, it is highly recommended that you already hold a Certificate III in Agriculture, or equivalent, before undertaking this course.

You will need to have regular/reliable access (i.e. be able to access the site at least once per month) to a farm enterprise that has a herd of livestock and pastureland suitable to sustain the herd of livestock. Access to this site must include relevant permissions to enter the site regularly as well as complete required work tasks within the site. To successfully demonstrate required depth and breadth of skills and knowledge the site selected must meet the above parameters. Before commencing assessment work it is highly recommended that you discuss site selection with your course coordinator.
