An online undergraduate unit provided by Curtin University and Open Universities Australia, Architecture Design and Technical Integration Studio brings together the disciplines you have explored throughout the Architecture Studio units for the Bachelor of Applied Science (Architectural Science) course. The unit is a co-requisite with Architectural Discourse and Spatial Intelligence Methods, where this studio’s project is communicated via visual, oral and written techniques.
Throughout this unit you will incorporate Work Integrated Learning (WIL) through design activity taking place on sites, in workshop situations and through simulation of real-world projects, encouraging interaction with the architectural industry and community. Drawing on the skills you have developed throughout the course, you will integrate developed ideas and services into the built form and envelope and build strategies for applying constructional, servicing, organisational and environmental systems and processes.
You will also study the design and development of buildings of medium scale, complexity and rise, while investigating contexts and relationships between site and building. The unit is assessed by a combination of investigation, design work and production of a reflective publication on your project.
In order to enrol, you must have successfully completed one of the following units:
