About this unit

Communication is an idea-driven form. If a client doesn’t understand your idea, than its highly likely they’ll give you a job. That is why Curtin University and Open Universities Australia offer design students this online Communicating Interior Solutions unit to encourage you to think deeply about how to best present your ideas.

Topics covered in this unit include idea generation, collecting and curating inspiration, and techniques for presenting work designed by hand or computer. Inspiration will be sought from national and international perspectives and sources. The unit covers the fundamentals of drawing, perspective, composition and layout.

These skills are then complemented with instruction in how to present ideas verbally and visually with confidence. Students will be trained in industry-standard programs such as Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD and ArchiCAD to ensure they have the technical ability to communicate their ideas.
