Develop your knowledge in urban and regional planning with the Diploma in Town Planning course, offered online and on campus by the University of New England (UNE).
This course will teach you how to analyse and evaluate approaches to land-use and built-environment problems in a range of changing social, economic and environmental contexts. It is an introductory course, designed to provide an opportunity for those who have never undertaken university study before. It also provides a pathway to further university study.
While completion of the diploma does not in itself lead to membership of the Planning Institute of Australia, further study at a bachelor level can lead to membership; the UNE Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning is fully accredited with the Planning Institute of Australia.

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a nationally recognised Diploma in Town Planning from the University of New England.

Eligible students can apply for FEE-HELP to cover the upfront costs of all or part of your fees.
The University of New England also offers a number of scholarships to successful applicants.
This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).Find out more about government study loans here.
