This Special Project in Yolngu Language and Culture unit from Open Universities Australia and Charles Darwin University provides students with a Yolngu perspective of a topic of particular interest to them.
At the completion of this unit, students will have developed a Yolngu vocabulary based on their chosen topic.
Depending on your chosen project, you will also develop a working knowledge of Yolngu research protocols and Yolnu IP, or Yolngu languages other than Gupapuyngu.

Content may also be relevant to other courses, and could qualify you for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for a course offered by another institution.
In this Special Project in Yolngu Language and Culture unit, students will choose their own topic and work with texts based on that topic.
This unit further expands on the knowledge and skills obtained in the Yolngu Languages and Culture 1 and 2 units, and further develops competencies in Yolngu and Gupapuyngu languages, culture and history and traditions in both past and present contexts.
If you are an Australian citizen, you may be eligible to receive a government FEE-HELP loan, meaning you can defer payment of your fees.
This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).Find out more about government study loans here.
