About this course

If you follow every make-up artist under the sun, and love all things beauty-related, AIAS's Certificate III in Make-Up (SHB30215) course could turn your passion and creative flair into your dream job as a make-up artist!

Delivered via a blend of online study and on-campus practical workshops, the course covers everything from the latest make-up techniques and practices through to marketing a salon or small business. It will also help you hone your interpersonal skills to give you the confidence to advise your clients on the latest beauty products and trends.

Upon completion of this course you will have the skills to pursue work as a make-up artist in a range of contexts, from fashion shoots and runway shows, to film sets and wedding day services!

Vocational placement

You will be required to complete 273 hours of practical work placement as part of this course. This will include 122 hours of vocational placement in a relevant workplace or at the AIAS Beauty Training Salon. The remaining 151 hours are to be completed on campus as a part of the compulsory syllabus. Placements are available at both AIAS Student Clinics.

To be eligible to apply for this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Have completed an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (Year 10 or higher); AND
  • Be at least 15 years of age
