This Diploma of Beauty Therapy (SHB50115) and Diploma of Salon Management (SHB50216) is offered through AIAS both on campus and online.
The combined courses will provide you with a comprehensive skillset which will allow you to pursue a large range of beauty industry roles.
By choosing to study a bundled course, you will gain practical beauty therapy skills in areas such as nail technology, waxing and spa treatments, with the added bonus of studying invaluable business and management subjects.
You will be required to complete a minimum of 480 hours of mandatory work placement in order to gain essential hands-on experience. You can complete your placement at an AIAS student clinic, or in a suitable workplace environment.
To be eligible to enrol in this course, you must meet the following entry requirements:
Provide a copy of your Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (i.e. a Year 12 qualification); OR
Demonstrate that you have the capacity to successfully complete this course by achieving an Exit Level 3 score within the Australian Core Skills Framework assessments in reading and mathematics. This will be demonstrated through two short tests as a part of the enrolment process.

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a nationally recognised, accredited Diploma of Beauty Therapy (SHB50115) and Diploma of Salon Management (SHB50216) from Study Group Australia Pty Limited, trading as the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences (AIAS).
By studying a bundled course you will gain the benefit of two complimentary areas of study. This can enable you to pursue beauty therapy and salon management roles in venues such as spas, health retreats and cruise ships or you may wish to go into business for yourself. Regardless of which area of beauty you wish to pursue, these comprehensive qualifications will help you achieve your beauty industry goals.

This course can be paid for through the VET FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
