About this course

Become a valuable member of the beauty therapy industry with this online Diploma of Beauty (SIB50110) course. Offered through Ivy College, you can choose to study at your own pace and accelerate your career progression! With no formal prerequisites, this course is ideal for anyone looking for a flexible career in a dynamic, exciting industry.

You will gain experience in a range of beauty therapy and treatment practices including make-up, manicures and pedicures, facial treatments, spa treatments, aromatherapy and massage. The SIB50110 version of this course is superseded and is transitioning to SHB50115.

Work placement

This course includes 150 hours of mandatory work experience, which you will need to undertake at a suitable beauty clinic or salon. You will be responsible for securing your own work placement, however, Ivy College will assist with finding a suitable location, if required.


To enrol in diploma and advanced diploma courses with Ivy College, you will need the ability to read and write English to at least Year 12 level.

To show evidence of this ability, you will need to have satisfied the following:

  • During the enrolment process, demonstrate that you have the skills and capability to succeed in the course at least to the level of Year 12 by providing a copy of your Australian year 12 certificate, or completing the Diploma Entry Test.

All students are also required to have a unique email address and access to a computer with an internet connection.

This course can be paid for through the VET FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
