The Diploma of Beauty Therapy (SHB50115) program offered by the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences (AIAS) is designed to give you the skills to launch your career in beauty.
This accredited diploma course provides training in a range of beauty techniques. You will gain an understanding of various beauty procedures as well as therapy techniques to promote health and wellbeing.
The subjects you will study in this program will give your education a professional finish. You will learn how to operate according to health, hygiene and safety procedures in a clinic environment. You will also have the opportunity to broaden your education with electives in alternative medicines.
You will be required to complete a minimum of 467-470 hours of mandatory work placement in order to gain essential hands-on experience. You can complete your placement at an AIAS student clinic, or in a suitable workplace environment.

To be eligible to enrol in this course, you must meet the following entry requirements:
Provide a copy of your Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (i.e. a Year 12 qualification); OR
Demonstrate that you have the capacity to successfully complete this course by achieving an Exit Level 3 score within the Australian Core Skills Framework assessments in reading and mathematics. This will be demonstrated through two short tests as a part of the enrolment process.

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a nationally recognised, accredited Diploma of Beauty Therapy (SHB50115) from the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences (AIAS).
Graduates of the Diploma of Beauty Therapy program offered by AIAS will have the education and training to pursue work as professional beauty therapists. You will have the skills and knowledge to seek work in all areas of the beauty industry, including day spas, resorts and cruise ships. The comprehensive education you will receive will also open the doors for you to pursue a career as a make-up artist or beauty technician.

This course can be paid for through the VET FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
