About this course

This online Double Diploma of Beauty Therapy and Salon Management (SIB50110 & SIB50210) course from Ivy College will allow you to pursue a wide range of professional options, providing you with training in a full range of beauty therapies as well as an understanding of management principles.

Therapies covered in the course include manicure and pedicure, waxing, facial treatments, body treatments, massage, make-up and aromatherapy, complemented by a structured program of business management subjects. You will learn how to manage human resources, budgeting, staff recruitment and retention, daily operations, customer service and training programs, equipping you with the tools to effectively manage a salon.

Work placement

To successfully complete this qualification, students are required to complete 160 hours of work placement at a suitable beauty clinic or salon. Students will also need to be supervised by a qualified practitioner - an individual who holds a Diploma of Beauty Therapy and has at least five years of clinical experience. Ivy College will help students find a suitable work placement to satisfy this essential component of the course.


To enrol in diploma and advanced diploma courses with Ivy College, you will need the ability to read and write English to at least Year 12 level. 

To show evidence of this ability, you will need to have satisfied the following:

  • During the enrolment process, demonstrate that you have the skills and capability to succeed in the course at least to the level of Year 12 by providing a copy of your Australian year 12 certificate, or completing the Diploma Entry Test.
