Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a 3D model-based process. It allows construction professionals to collaborate over the design of architectural, structural and functional elements of a project from start to finish.
This online unit, offered by Curtin University and Open Universities Australia, will introduce the concept and provide you with the opportunity to examine, understand and analyse the unique opportunities offered by working with BIM. You will consider the advantages and challenges of working within this environment and hear first hand from professionals using it in their work.
You will also be able to evaluate the role of BIM within construction management projects and demonstrate how it can be used to improve processes. At the end of the unit you will present your own BIM model, which will be generated from extensive team collaboration.
