Building Services is an online unit offered by Open Universities Australia in association with Curtin University. Its focus is to explore the pivotal role building services play in facilitating the success of a construction project. Ensuring comfort and high energy-performance is a central function of modern building services; this will be considered alongside the costs associated with a building service installation.
To begin with, the unit considers the main different types of building service installations typically required. These include fire prevention, heating, ventilation and lighting. Throughout study, the cost and client expectations of such projects will be explained in detail.
Ultimately, on completion of the unit, you will be able to thoroughly analyse the different variables involved in estimating the time and cost implications of installing and coordinating building services.
