About this unit

Infrastructure Construction is an online unit provided by Open Universities Australia in association with Curtin University that is designed to provide you with a multidisciplinary approach to the principles of infrastructure construction. From gas to oil to minerals, you will explore the techniques and management process surrounding extraction. Equipped with this knowledge you will embark on a field placement.

To begin with, you'll consider the construction issues surrounding transport utilities such as roads, bridges, and railways. Following this, you will learn the more complex requirements of sectors such as mining and mineral extraction, before moving on to oil and gas, tunnelling, and concrete pumping.

Ultimately, Infrastructure Construction gives you a comprehensive overview of how to effectively approach an infrastructure project across a spectrum of construction disciplines.
