About this unit

The online Doing Business in Asia Pacific Economies unit provided by Open Universities Australia in partnership with Griffith University will give you a comprehensive understanding of how businesses through the Asia Pacific region operate and how Australian businesses should approach this market.

The unit looks at the management style of Asian business, and examines the way in which varying social and cultural expectations affect the leadership in Asian business. You will learn about the role that government plays in the operation of companies and how this differs across the region. Particular attention will be paid to China. Finally, you will examine a range of broad social topics that are relevant to Asian businesses. Such topics include gender disparities in the workforce, and how informal economies operate.
