About this unit

Sustainable International Business Futures is an online unit from Open Universities Australia and RMIT University. It is designed to provide knowledge and skills in developing and critiquing international business practices and compliance with sustainability and ethics.

Case studies will highlight issues in areas such as multinational operations’ production activities in the developing world, resource extraction and environmental degradation, tax avoidance and evasion, and the international business of war, among other topics.

Students will develop a critical and reflective understanding of international business and management issues in a contemporary, globalised world, and how these issues relate to sustainability. The ambiguities and complexities affecting the various stakeholders in international business and management will also be critically evaluated.

In order to enrol in this unit, you must be accepted into one of the following courses:

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
