About this unit

Information is becoming more central and more crucial to the efficient functioning of the global economy. The Global Knowledge Economy will teach you to understand how international and national economies have changed into knowledge-based systems.

During this Open Universities and Swinburne University unit, you will delve into the history, characteristics and future of the Global Knowledge Economy. You’ll learn to analyse social, political and economic change and their effects both locally and within the global knowledge economy.

Finally, you will critically analyse how different agents can operate and succeed in the global knowledge economy. This practical lesson will be applied to Australia, various organisations and your own individual or relevant business experience, enabling you to act with adeptness and foresight.

In order to enrol in this unit, you must be accepted into one of the following courses:

You should also ensure that you have not already completed a previous, or academically equivalent version of this unit.
