About this course

Enter the exciting world of event management with this Diploma of Events (SIT50212) course offered through Ivy College. Study this online self-paced course and gain access to interactive support webinars, where you will gain comprehensive support and access to your trainers - as if you were studying on campus! Combined with a work placement component, this diploma course gives you event management skills and understanding, and the opportunity to put your skills to use in real-world environments.

Learn about managing customer relationships, budget control, minimising WHS hazards and coordinating event marketing. Real-life work experience will also give you practical knowledge in a range of even production functions, including creating event plans, working within a larger event operations team, reporting to stakeholders and managing multiple operational components.

Work placement

To successfully complete this subject, you are required to undertake 90 hours of practical work experience. Students are responsible for securing their own work experience, however, Ivy College will provide assistance in finding a suitable placement. If you are unable to access a work placement, you can attend one of Ivy College's regular workshops, where you will assist with organising and running a number of 'real' Ivy College events, supervised by your trainer.


To enrol in diploma and advanced diploma courses with Ivy College, you will need the ability to read and write English to at least Year 12 level.

To show evidence of this ability, you will need to have satisfied the following:

  • During the enrolment process, demonstrate that you have the skills and capability to succeed in the course at least to the level of Year 12 by providing a copy of your Australian year 12 certificate, or completing the Diploma Entry Test.

All students are also required to have a unique email address and access to a computer with an internet connection.
