About this unit

This Open Universities Australia and RMIT University unit will give you the understanding necessary to enable you to identify the influences of the external environment on professional practice in media and communication. Enrolling in this online Leading Change in Media and Communication unit will expose you to a wide range of practically applicable knowledge – you will, for example, gain an understanding on how the profession is changing due to advances in technology.

You will consider how social change influences the media and communication industries, and will discuss how issues such as sustainability can be approached. You will become familiar with ethical frameworks, and will be able to apply these in order to ascertain the impact of change.

You will gain a critical understanding of the underpinnings of leadership in your field, and will be expected to reflect on and evaluate these approaches to leading.

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
