About this course

Offered by Careers Australia, the Certificate III in Home and Community Care (CHC30312) equips you with the practical skills required to work in residential facilities as a support worker or carer. The course teaches you how to assist a range of clients such as the older population or individuals living with a disability or chronic illness. You will be trained to support clients with compassion and integrity, and to always uphold their dignity and find ways to encourage independence. You will learn how to help clients with personal care needs, assist with medication, and safely prepare meals. Work placement

Students will be required to complete a vocational placement as a part of this course.

Eligibility

There are no entry requirements for this course, however it is recommended that students be at least 16 years of age or have completed Year 12. Students will also need to pass a National Police Clearance prior to starting placement.
