The Certificate IV in Community Services Work program offered through SEEK Learning will give you the necessary skills to launch a career in community services. This government-accredited and nationally recognised course will train you in specialist communication, client support and intervention, to be applied in residential and community settings.
You will also be able to tailor your education by choosing to study electives in the areas of alcohol and drugs, case management, disability and working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. As a part of the course, you will be required to undertake at least 160 hours of work placement in the community services industry in Australia, to further your education and training.
Upon enrolment of this course, you will also be required to sign a Prohibited Employment Declaration, necessary where contact will be made with children.

As a student of OTEN through SEEK Learning, you will be periodically contacted by your teachers to discuss your education progress. Your enquiries will also receive priority attention and your assignments will be marked and returned within seven working days.
Upon enrolment you will gain access to the OTEN Learning Support (OLS) site, where you will be able to receive course updates and view your study progress. General student support is also available during business hours or via email.

Upon completion of this certificate program you will have the qualifications and training to seek a successful career in community services. This course will give you the skills to qualify for roles such as caseworker, community support worker, drug and alcohol counsellor, outreach officer and mental health worker.
