About this course

Are you a support worker currently working in disability services? Or perhaps you're a student looking to enter this industry? Then look no further than the Graduate Diploma in Disability Management from the University of New England (UNE).

This online course is relevant to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). As a student of this course, you will study clinical and neurobiological issues in disability management and NDIS business management. In addition, you will also complete an in-depth study of disability management.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be well-prepared for the roll-out of the NDIS and the anticipated demand for new, client-driven services and supports arising from the scheme.


To be eligible for entry into this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Hold a Graduate Certificate in Disability Management from UNE; OR
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, such as business, management, law, social work, education, psychology, medicine or health*; OR
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in a non-relevant discipline and at least one year of full-time equivalent experience in any aspect of provision of services to people with or without disability*.

*Applicants admitted under these rules must submit a resume, plus two referees' reports from employers or senior colleagues (on company letterhead).

You may be eligible for advanced standing if your previous education and experience meet certain criteria.

Eligible students can apply for FEE-HELP to cover the upfront costs of all or part of your fees.

Alternatively, you can pay annually for the units you select to study in that year.

The University of New England also offers a number of scholarships to successful applicants.

You may be eligible to receive FEE-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
