Be trained to effectively counsel and support a range of clients with this online CHC51015 - Diploma of Counselling course delivered by Study Group Australia in partnership with Conwal Institute. Ideally suited to professionals working within community services, allied health or the education sector, this program covers the interpersonal skills and theoretical knowledge needed to provide high quality counselling support to your clients.
The program will teach you how to work intensively with clients, support their decision-making and foster a professional counselling relationship that adheres to legal and ethical guidelines. You'll also be trained to respond and intervene in high-risk scenarios, and determine the suitability of a client for counselling services.
Upon completion of your course you'll be qualified to support clients who may be vulnerable, ill, traumatised or in crisis.
To be eligible to apply for this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:
Provide proof that they have successfully completed Year 12 in Australia; OR
Hold at least a certificate IV in any discipline*; OR
Achieve an Exit Level 3 or above score within the Australian Core Skills Framework assessments in reading and numeracy

This course can be paid for through the VET FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
