Delivered by Mercer School of Interior Design and taught at Mercer’s Collingwood campus, the course provides you with the creative insights and technical skills needed to succeed as a qualified interior designer.
The first year will see you focus primarily on residential design including how to prepare materials for client briefings and project management, while the second year largely concentrates on commercial design, including but not limited to, retail and hospitality design projects. As you develop a stronger understanding of design principles, you will also learn how to use the latest design software programs such as Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp and Revit. This course will develop your design skills, give you access to industry networks and contacts. It is the ideal study pathway for your career in residential and commercial interior design.

This course can be paid for through the VET FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
