In this fully online Animation Design Introduction unit, offered by Curtin University, you will be introduced to the basics of animation design. You will examine how animation can be used to create the effect of space and time through the study of the fundamental principles of animation. Using up to date animation computer software, you will learn how to make a ball bounce and a ‘walk cycle’.
You will gain basic animation skills including how to work out what sort of resources you need for any animation project. As well as showing you current and past animation processes, this unit will teach you how to capture the power of narrative through animation.
There are no prerequisites for this unit; anyone can apply.

Once you’ve finished studying this introduction to basic animation skills, you will be able to create basic animations, from the first design to the final animation. You will learn how to use current industry-standard software and the basic principles of animation design to creative your own animations. With this skillset, and the knowledge of budgeting and allocating resources, you will be able to tell stories through your work.

This course can be paid for through the HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP government loan schemes. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
