A combination of web design, digital marketing and public relations, this course gives you a diverse practical skillset to work in new industries. You'll graduate with a relevant, contemporary qualification, and an appetite for new thinking.

Students in this course learn how to develop high-level communications strategies, execute digital campaigns, effectively harness digital media, and develop creative and technical skillset across a range of areas. You'll skill up in social media, digital publishing, search engines and SEO, websites, video, mobile technology and games. There is also the opportunity to pair this course with a second major, equipping you with the skills and knowledge to communicate about something you're really passionate about.


To be eligible for entry into this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Completed Australian senior secondary studies with an ATAR equal to or above this year's admission cut-off; OR
  • Achieved a multiple choice score of 135 or above in the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT); OR
  • Completed a recognised post-secondary course; OR
  • Completed approved university preparation (foundation) studies; OR
  • Completed at least one year of study at a recognised tertiary or higher education institution; OR
  • Completed 2 units at an Australian university or through Open Universities Australia.

If you don't meet any of these academic entry requirements, Murdoch University offers several pathways, including the FlexiTrack university preparation program, to help you qualify for this course.

Eligible students can apply for a HECS-HELP loan to cover the upfront costs of all or part of your fees.

Alternatively, you can pay annually for the units you choose to study in that year.

Murdoch University also offers a number of scholarships to successful applicants.

You may be eligible to receive HECS-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the HECS-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
