Hold a Certificate IV or higher in any discipline; OR
Be assessed as competent at Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Exit Level 3 or above for reading and numeracy

Under the Education and Care Services National Law (2011), at least 50 per cent of educators working with children under the age of five must be hold, or be working towards, at least a diploma level qualification.
