About this unit

eLearning Communities is an online unit provided by Open Universities Australia in association with the University of New England. In essence, it provides you with the definition of an effective eLearning community, and the various strategies with which to plan, establish, and maintain one. After rigorous evaluation of these strategies, you will be tasked with planning and creating an eLearning community yourself.

To begin with, you will gain a broad understanding of what constitutes a learning community, and the different approaches and environments associated with them. Following this, you will explore the various implementation issues that arise when planning a learning community, and the most efficient ways to overcome them. With these insights learned, you will then plan your own eLearning community.

Ultimately, successful completion of this unit will empower you with the knowledge, ability, and confidence to successfully implement an eLearning community in a professional environment.
