Applicants must meet the following entry requirements in order to enrol in this course:

  • Hold an education/teaching degree assessed as being the equivalent of a four-year Australian degree (normally a Bachelor of Education or a four-year combined/double education degree e.g. BSc/BEd); OR
  • Hold a three-year degree in a non-education discipline (e.g. arts, science, commerce) plus a minimum one-year teaching qualification such as a Graduate Diploma in Education or Master of Teaching, or equivalent.

If English is not your native language, applicants must provide an IELTS (or equivalent test) score of at least 6.5 overall, with a score of no less than 6.0 in any test component.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) may be available for skills and knowledge obtained through previous study or other relevant experience.

You may be eligible to receive FEE-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
