About this unit

Offered by Curtin University through Open Universities Australia, Science and Mathematics Education Project A is an online unit where you can undertake a practical research project, in an area of interest.

Designed for students with both advanced and entry-level research experience, you are required to complete an educational research proposal on a topic of your choice, which is then implemented and explored through a formal research report.

You will work closely with a supervisor to develop a scholarly theoretical perspective for investigating problems, design a research methodology emphasising quality standards appropriate to the chosen epistemology, develop ethical protocols for ensuring that the study minimises harm to all participants, and write a formal research proposal.

Applying knowledge gained previously during the prerequisite unit, Science and Mathematics Education Research Methods, this unit is the first of two research project units undertaken by students of the Master of Science (Science and Mathematics Education) course.
