This Civil Engineering Research Project online unit, offered by Open Universities Australia and University of South Australia, allows engineering students to select an area of civil engineering in which there is currently a knowledge gap, and pursue an independent investigation into this area.
You will be expected to become thoroughly familiar with the academic and industry literature on the topic of your choice, and will be expected to develop a critical understanding of it through assembling your literature review. You will then plan and schedule your research project. In doing so, you will gain an understanding of academic research methodologies and project design. You will then carry out your research plans.
