An online undergraduate unit provided by the University of South Australia, Engineering Dynamics helps you to develop a foundation in the dynamic analysis of mechanical systems through modelling and analysing the motion of particles and rigid bodies. You will build a fundamental understanding of how mechanical systems work from an engineering perspective, and learn how to clearly and concisely present your work in a written format. Delivered online by Open Universities Australia, the unit provides a solid foundation in how to define and solve problems in engineering dynamics.
On completion of this unit you will be able to apply a range of techniques to analyse circular, angular and planar motion, utilise a variety of methodologies for analysing kinetics and motion, and explain the essential concepts and principles of engineering dynamics. The unit is delivered via a range of teaching methods and materials, including online assessment and assignment submission, discussion forums, audio/video streaming and print-based materials. Assessment takes the form of an assignment, an invigilated exam, a practical assessment and a quiz.

Engineering Dynamics covers fundamental concepts and principles that you will be expected to apply to a range of real-world engineering based problems, particularly in the field of mechanical engineering. This course can be paid for through the HECS-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
