This online Operations and Project Management for Engineers unit from Open Universities Australia and the University of South Australia introduces engineering students to the key concepts and methods in operations management, project planning and control.
With a focus on eight key areas: inventory management; aggregate and resource planning; decision making analysis; work measurement and time standards; project management and structuring; engineering economic analysis; and project estimation and scheduling, students gain a thorough knowledge of this field.
Students will learn the basic principles of operations management, develop a strategic framework for manufacturing competitiveness, apply appropriate techniques to plan and manage manufacturing operations and projects, monitor and evaluate processes and outcomes, and suggest ways to improve existing manufacturing activities.
