About this unit

An online postgraduate unit provided by Curtin University and Open Universities Australia, Advanced Individual Project 2 forms part of the Master of Sustainability and Climate Policy. In this unit you will produce a piece of individual research in the form of a dissertation, which will form 100% of your assessment.

You will be expected to assess and prioritise a range of research themes and approaches in relation to your chosen subject area, and produce detailed arguments and hypotheses based on your findings. You will have access to regular consultations with an assigned supervisor, who will assist you in developing the project.

On completion of this unit you will have developed an in-depth, critical understanding of your chosen field of study. You will also be able to demonstrate how to bring together primary and secondary research, and background a project with conceptual development and literature analysis.

  • Conducting primary research (new knowledge) and secondary research (derived/desktop/text-based)
  • Research methods for qualitative and quantitative research
  • Writing up research findings into a dissertation
