In this unit, provided by Open Universities Australia and Curtin University, you will learn about the basic requirements for creating and maintaining a healthy environment and about the various factors that can disrupt or destroy such an environment. You will examine the causes of environmental health issues and the impacts of poor environmental health that may be caused by chemical, biological or physical factors.
The unit also considers various management strategies and current trends in environmental health policies, and the roles of the government and international agencies in designing and implementing these.
Skills, including evaluation and critical analysis, will be developed as you study the various scientific disciplines involved in understanding environmental health, and the impact on health of disturbances in environmental components.
You cannot enrol in this unit if you have completed units deemed academically equivalent. In order to enrol in this unit, you must have been accepted into one of the following courses:

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
