Completing this online Environmental Studies unit with Open Universities Australia and RMIT University gives you access to a wide range of information on fascinating topics related to this topical and highly relevant field of study.
You will be given nine individual options in this online unit, of which you will choose two to study. These options include topics that focus primarily on the causes of environmental problems, such as hazardous and contaminated waste, human impacts on the atmosphere, and mining and the environment, as well as broader topics such as an introduction to environmental science and the environmental chemistry of soil. Assessments will vary in accordance with topics selected.
Whichever topics you choose to focus on, you will develop the skills to coherently discuss the impacts of anthropogenic activities on the environment with reference to scientific evidence. You will also be able to identify the factors that must be addressed in order to solve environmental issues.
It is recommended that students complete the unit, Scientific Skills and Communication, prior to enrolling in this unit.
