The Graduate Diploma in Energy Studies offered by Open Universities Australia outlines patterns of energy supply and consumption, whilst encouraging a proactive approach to renewable energy research and planning.
Graduates of this energy studies program will acquire knowledge and skills to enhance their work in areas such as energy policy, energy economics, energy management and efficiency, sustainable energy systems design and planning, the environmental impact of energy systems and their use. The course also includes a short research project in renewable energy research.

Open Universities courses are offered in specific study intakes every year, known as Study Periods or Sessions. This means more flexibility as you can choose when to start studying.
If you are studying undergraduate units you can start at the beginning of any of the four Study Periods each year, each lasting 13 weeks. Most postgraduate courses are offered in three Sessions per year, with each Session lasting 14 weeks.
Exams are usually held in the week following the end of each Study Period or Session.

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
