In the Financial Decision Making online unit provided by Open Universities Australia and RMIT University you will learn how to apply the key principles of good financial decision making to everyday aspects of financial management. In this unit you will focus on practical examples from Australian companies in order to develop and apply the knowledge gained through the unit.
You will learn how to critically analyse and select management decision options based on the principles and theory learned and the technical skills attained through the unit. Furthermore, you will learn how financial decision making fits into the larger business sector and the economy in its entirety. You will come to understand the importance of financial decision making, and your responsibilities as a financial decision maker.
At the end of this unit, you will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the key principles of corporate finance and understand why maximisation of profit and wealth is an important corporate goal. You will also come to understand agency relationships, portfolio theory and share valuation – among many other important corporate topics.

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
