About this unit

This online Strategic Financial Analysis unit from Open Universities Australia and the University of South Australia examines the role of financial statements in the analysis of business strategy, performance appraisal and monitoring, and stakeholder reporting.

The unit investigates how accounting rules, regulations and conventions impact the interpretation and use of financial statements in business analysis.

You will learn to provide critical financial assessments of a firm's operating, financing and investment decisions, relative to the historical and contemporary performance of its competitors and peers.

You will also learn the requirements of financial statement information in appraisals of governance and regulatory compliance, as well as undertake forecasts for valuation, strategy and policy analyses.
