About this course

Become part of a sector that is growing in scope and importance by completing a Bachelor of Health and Movement degree. Delivered by the Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE), the course is designed to provide you with a high level of training to ensure you're qualified to work within the growing fields of health and fitness. After covering off on the fundamentals of health and movement, you'll be given the opportunity to hone your skillset with a choice between two areas of specialisation:

Sport - Covering key aspects of health, movement, science and sport, you will develop a broad understanding of physical activity services, the importance of physical activity for the wellbeing of individuals and for the community at large.

Community Health - This major combines training in health and fitness and covers key topics such as nutrition, movement, physical activity and sport. Throughout the duration of your studies you will also develop an understanding of community health risks and their remedies.

To be eligible to enrol in this course, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Have completed the NSW HSC with minimum average of 65 (calculated from the highest 10 units completed) or equivalent; OR
  • Hold a qualification from a recognised higher education provider; OR
  • Hold an associate diploma or higher from a recognised VET provider; OR
  • Have completed at least one year full-time or equivalent in a degree from an Australian university; OR
  • Satisfy entry requirements specified under formal articulation agreements as determined by the ACPE academic board

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
