About this course

FIAFitnation's Certificate III (SIS30313) & IV (SIS40210) in Fitness Combo Pack is your head start in the fitness industry. The dual program endows you with the skills and qualifications you need to become a certified gym floor instructor and personal trainer. The Certificate III in Fitness is your first step, providing you with a solid understanding of fitness and exercise science.

In this course you will learn how to plan fitness programs, provide client health assessments and utilise and maintain fitness equipment. From there you will advance onto the Certificate IV in Fitness which is designed to give you a deeper understanding of fitness principles and provide you with the administrative skills to succeed as a self-employed personal trainer.

You will learn how to effectively liaise with allied health professionals, plan exercise programs for the elderly, and provide health programs to help clients achieve their health and fitness goals. The combo pack is available to study both on campus and online, providing you with a flexible pathway toward employment within the fitness industry.

Flexible study modes

This combination pack offers a number of flexible delivery modes that can be tailored around your lifestyle. Options include:

  • Full-time: Three days a week with classes being held from 8.30am-3pm
  • Full-time (evenings): Two evenings a week from 6.30pm-9.30pm plus one practical weekend.
  • Full-time (weekends): Delivered on campus over 13 weeks. Classes held on Saturday, except for week 1 & 13 which are held on Sunday from 9am-4pm
  • Online: Self-paced with up to 6 months to complete

Work placement

Students will be required to complete 20 hours of work experience with a personal trainer.

To be eligible to enrol in this course, you must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Have successfully completed Year 10 in Australia or equivalent; OR
  • Demonstrate that you have the capacity to successfully complete this course by achieving an Exit Level 3 score within the Australian Core Skills Framework assessments in reading and mathematics. This will be demonstrated through two short tests as a part of the enrolment process.
