This Diploma of Nutrition and Dietetics (10454NAT) for Personal Trainers course is the first of its kind and has been developed in response to a growing demand from fitness professionals wanting to provide sound dietary and nutritional advice to clients. Delivered online by FIAFitnation, the course is the first of its kind and has been specifically designed to equip personal trainers with a deeper understanding of nutritional principles.
Students will learn about the role of nutrition in weight management, gain a better grasp of food labelling, and be taught how to create diet programs to help a range of clients including professional athletes and clients with weight-loss goals. The course also covers the vital communication techniques needed to effectively counsel and guide clients on their way to healthier eating habits.
The course is delivered online, however practical components will be delivered by FIAFitnation's synchronised learning model.
To be eligible to enrol in this course, you must meet the following entry requirements:
Have completed a Certificate IV in Fitness (SIS40210); AND
Hold a current First Aid Certificate
Provide a copy of your Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (i.e a Year 12 qualification); OR
Demonstrate that you have the capacity to successfully complete this course by achieving an Exit Level 3 score within the Australian Core Skills Framework assessments in reading and mathematics. This will be demonstrated through two short tests as a part of the enrolment process.

If you already hold a Certificate IV in Fitness (SIS40210), completion of this course qualifies you to pursue work as a certified Fitness Nutritional Coach.

This course can be paid for through the VET FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
