About this course

This online Personal Trainer Pathway program will fast track your fitness career, equipping you with two nationally recognised qualifications that will prepare you to enter the rapidly growing industry of fitness and wellbeing.

The program bundles together the Certificate III in Fitness (SIS30313) and Certificate IV in Fitness (SIS40210), and has been structured to provide you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to work in a range of fitness contexts.

Key learning areas include the essentials of how the human body works, the fundamentals of fitness, client evaluation, developing fitness programs based on individual needs and how to keep clients motivated to achieve their goals. You will also learn how to develop and implement exercise programs for a wide range of ages, and who may have a variety of managed health conditions.

You will also learn how to run a small business as the course covers marketing strategies, and legal and insurance obligations.

Work placement

Students will be required to complete a total of 180 hours of mandatory work placement as a part of this program:

  • Certificate III in Fitness: Minimum of 80 hours
  • Certificate IV in Fitness: Minimum of 100 hours


To be eligible for this course you must:

  • Have completed Year 10


  • Hold a certificate II or higher qualification


  • Have at least 2 years of industry experience in a role that requires the use of written documentation and communication
