The Bachelor of Audiometry at the University of New England (UNE) is the only course of its kind in Australia at undergraduate level. It brings together practical education and training in audiometric assessment available through TAFE with conceptual and theoretical understanding. The course is recognised by Australia's two national audiometry organisations.
When you graduate, you'll have a strong understanding of the broader framework of perception and developmental and physiological psychology and the roles these play in hearing. You'll possess core knowledge of audiometry and appreciate the theoretical principles underpinning audiometric assessment and rehabilitation techniques.
You also have flexible opportunities to choose additional biological, linguistic or applied/professional studies depending on your goals and preferences.
If plans change, and you can no longer commit to the full Bachelor of Audiometry, you could still be eligible to receive a qualification.
Depending on the credit points you've completed, you could exit with the Advanced Diploma in Arts.
