About this course

If your dream job is to improve the lives of those with disabilities and participation barriers, then Upskilled's online Diploma of Leisure and Health (CHC53415) course will get you on your way!

The course is designed to equip you with the skills to tailor programs to suit individuals' needs, train and supervise staff, provide leisure education, and plan and implement structured leisure programs. Such training will enable you to work with a diverse range of clients from individuals with disabilities and older people through to forced migrants and individuals with mental health issues. Students with relevant work experience or tertiary education may provide supporting evidence of this upon enrolment, and may be awarded Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).  

Work placement

You will be required to undertake 240 hours of supervised work placements in a relevant community service delivery setting

Eligibility

There are no entry requirements for this qualification, however it is strongly recommended that applicants complete lower level qualifications or gain relevant experience before undertaking this course. Students applying for VET FEE-HELP will also be required to:

  • Provide a copy of their Year 12 certificate

OR

  • Successfully complete a language literacy and numeracy task to ensure this qualification is suitable to their needs

This course can be paid for through the VET FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
