About this unit

Take this online Open Universities Australia and Curtin University unit to gain an introduction into physical activity as an issue to be considered by public health and health promotion professionals. Discuss the benefits of increasing physical activity for health and the community at large, and develop an understanding of the rationale for prioritisation of this issue in health promotion.

Upon completion of this unit you will have an understanding of the contemporary health promotion models and philosophies which underpin levels of physical activity across the Australian population and trends across the global population. Sub-populations and their specific needs will also be considered, with regard for their specific settings for intervention.
