Through a blend of online theory and practical assessment activities, you'll learn how to manage operational plans and processes, plan in-house activities and functions, recruit and induct staff members, and monitor quality customer service. You'll also gain the leadership and managerial skills needed to lead your teams to greater success, and be trained to manage conflict, roster staff, plan and monitor budgets and ensure WHS and other regulations requirements are complied with.

As a part of this course, you will be required to complete a minimum of 36 service periods or shifts within the hospitality industry.

Eligibility

There are no formal prerequisites for this course, however Upskilled will assess a students' 'academic suitability' to ensure the student has the best chance of success. This is determined by either:

  • The student providing a copy of an Australian year 12 Certificate; OR,
  • The student completing the Core Skills Profile for Adults online assessment passing at or above Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework in both reading and numeracy.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) may be available for skills and knowledge obtained through previous study or other relevant experience.
